little hell - City and Colour

Genre: Acoustic, Indie Rock

Dallas Green, known as City and Colour, has been performing songs for the past seven years and has not stopped his momentum of phenomenal music. With his involvement in Alexisonfire, Green has a colourful background of music and experiences. In 2011, the singer/songwriter came out with another amazing album, Little Hell. Nominated for four Juno Awards, and winning Songwriter of the Year in 2012, Green continues to create melodic tunes with his acoustic music.

Having been a virgin to music by City and Colour, when I heard Little Hell I realized how much I've missed by not listening to his music. His calming chord progressions and simple yet expressing lyrics were the perfect blend for a relaxing and soothing album. The collection of songs produced an artwork that flowed together to create a spectacular album.

Green composed the songs artistically and certain songs like "Grant Optimist", "Little Hell", "Hope and Now", "Weightless", and "O'Sister" stood out in the album. Considering that "Weightless" and "Grand Optimist" were the singles on the album, the five stood out due to their skilled strum patterns accompanied by their moving lyrics.

Overall, this album is perfect to listen to on a rainy day, studying, going to bed or when you're feeling reclusive. I definitely recommend checking it out, it is a must-have in your music collection.
