This past Sunday was the annual Grammy's award show, music's biggest night. As a music buff, I continuously look forward to this event year round because this is when I seriously embrace the power of music and the effort artists put into their work.
Hosted by LL Cool J, I thought the show had a range of performances; some were very disappointing and some were incredible. In general, I enjoyed the show and agreed or "understood" who were the winners. Some were a little bit of a surprise and I would have wanted another artist to win, but most of the awards were delivered to their righteous owners.
Here is a list of awards that I had predictions for, the underlined nominees were my predictions and the italics are the winners (for all the nominees, click here):

It was a very entertaining night and I was content with most of the awards given. Performances like Ed Sheeran, Kelly Clarkson and Miguel were unbelievable; shout out to Ed and Miguel for their debuts. However, Taylor Swift came out with an unnecessary circus act that became a train wreck of a performance. Instead of her new gimmicks, she should stick to her classic fairytale princess performances. Although the long awaited debut performance for Frank Ocean was a incredibly painful to watch. His controversial song choice, "Forest Gump" off channel orange, was a let down and sounded like he made it up along the way. It was devastating to see he frustration in his eyes while performing because he as well knew it was a poor performance, especially one for a debut on the Grammy's stage.
For the most part, the show was well constructed with great presenters and a wonderful hosting job by LL Cool J. I look forward to the next award show while I continue to collect and listen to upcoming albums.
