Chance, Chance, Chance…
Chancelor Bennett, also known as Chance the Rapper, is a
self-employed rapper with two mixtapes, 10 Day and Acid Rap. With a flare of
education, jazz and rap, this mixtape is an individual piece of art that should
be listened to.
By starting off the mixtape with a symphony of voices,
Chance collaborated with various artists to create a unique sound and original
collection of songs. With names like Ab-Soul and Childish Gambino being brought
out, the rapper continue to build his name with quality songs and amazing lyrics.
Chance’s educational history is definitely seen throughout
the album with his elaborate vocabulary and murderous phrases. My person
favourites, “Cocoa Butter Kisses ft. Vic Mensa & Twista”, “Lost ft. Noname
Gypsy”, and “Chain Smoker”, were catchy, well composed and fresh.
Looking forward to his work in the future incuding the
harmonies and choir ensembles he puts together for the next mixtape or album.
Up and coming, he is an artist worth having on your iPod.
